2008 Intl Champions and released a new CD. OC Times has had a huge influence on the youth movement in barbershop. They should be on or near the top of the list.

OC Times has introduced more "new" song titles (not arrangements, but actual new melodies) to the international contest stage than any other gold medalist quartet.

they won the contest and couldn't win a round....how legitimate is that?

Anonymous said...

Almost as legitimate as winning the first round and then crashing and burning in rounds 2 and 3.

Reading their website you get an immediate sense of their mission statement, to bring barbershop to the masses, to make barbershop appealing to the general audience as well as excite and stimulate our current membership and enthusiasts. They certainly didn’t take the safe road, but the road less traveled by, and that, not how many rounds of competition they won, has made all the difference and will be their legacy. Inspiring, innovative, and original. What other quartet does this? None.

I know that Youth Harmony Camps and Festivals are always in the OC Times schedule, here in the United States as well as around the world.

I love this poll and can’t wait to hear the rankings! Someone should mention that each year O. C. Times medaled as a quartet, they medaled in a chorus! In 2005 they won with Masters of Harmony and got 5th as a quartet,
2006 they placed 2nd with the Westminster Chorus and finished 3rd as a quartet,
2007 they won with Westminster Chorus and 2nd as a quartet, and in
2008 they won the gold medal with both Masters of Harmony and the quartet.
This type of success as a chapter quartet is legendary.
As far as not winning a round in Nashville, at least they beat each quartet once LOL!
